Season 0: The Skip has begun
During the 4,471,330th Swing the Sleeping Face opened its eyes, and all of Devran stood still for one heartbeat.
The world does not turn the Arena. The Arena turns the world. That is the one truth everyone in Devran knows: if the fighting in the Arena stops, the world stops.
One heartbeat
In AS 1247, during the 4,471,330th Swing, the giant stone face buried in the lanes, the Sleeping Face, opened its eyes. For one heartbeat everything in Devran stood still: rivers, wind, sentences. Then everything carried on. Everyone felt it.
- The never-setting sun of Hesperra sank by a finger's width.
- The storms of Zahreth spoke a word.
- A Swing no one fought appeared in the ledger of the House of Count.
The Counters call it the Missing Swing. No one fought in it; yet the ledger counted it.
