World of Arena 1.0.5: The Red Count's new look and the merchant Dareva
The Red Count map is repainted. Menus and the HUD have a brush skin. A merchant named Dareva stands at the Arsenal.
Highlights
- New Red Count look: The map is repainted. The ground, lanes and bases use a brush texture.
- Brush-skinned interface: The menus and the in-match HUD share one painted stone look.
- Arsenal merchant Dareva: A merchant stands at the Arsenal counter in both bases. Her name is Dareva.
- Smoother play: Low and medium texture detail now use half-resolution textures.
- Honor system: An honor vote from your own group now counts as half.
Map
- The ground and lanes use painted textures. The mid crossing is now a stone corridor.
- The stone walls along the lanes are layered, broken rock.
- The towers have new models: Menhir, Prizma and Vorun. They carry season gold and team-colored capes.
- Props and trees are new. There are new crimson grass tufts along the lanes.
- Crystals glow in vivid colors.
- The scenery outside the map is new. Waterfalls, cliffs and mist layers are darker and deeper.
- The bases have new stairs and new edge stones.
- Champions who spawn at the base fountain stand on a flat floor.
- Crystals turn see-through when they cover your own champion.
Arsenal merchant
- Dareva is one of the Saltmen of Hesperra. The House of Count wrote her into the ledger twice: once in the blue column, once in the red column.
- That is why she has a counter in both bases. She reacts when you open the shop.
Interface and art
- The menus and the in-match HUD have a brush skin. Buttons, panels, screen frames and the minimap frame look like painted stone.
- Chat bubbles look painted too.
- The client header and the project icon show the new World of Arena emblem.
- Champion splash art, portraits and loading screens are new.
- Badge icons have no background and are easier to read.
- The store now shows product images.
- Item and rune names now match the original names used in the game.
Units and effects
- Minions have new textures. The two teams are easier to tell apart.
- A unit that gets hit no longer turns into a flat white silhouette. It flashes briefly, then goes back to normal.
- Tower and minion effects are tuned to each team color. No more white blobs.
- Champion models use painted textures. Details and colors stay the same.
Performance
- When texture detail is low or medium, decor, structures, plants, monsters and effects use half-resolution textures.
- Textures take less video memory.
Server
- An honor vote from your own group now counts as half.
- The honor level of some players may be recalculated.
- You do not need an update for this.
